UNIVERSITY CLUB

The building is located on San Felipe´s Second Street, from which a beautiful view to the beach of "Santo Domingo" can be appreciated. The property extends to First Street, the highest valued area of the Casco Antiguo, and is adjacent from this street to the "Condominio Paseo Las Bóvedas". The latter consists of 3 buildings also restored by Compañía Inmobiliaria San Felipe. Additionally, it is on the vicinity of "Plaza de Francia". Because of this, the building has one of the most privileged positions in the area.

The project was designed by architect Edward McGrath, and consists of 6 apartments, with access from Second Street, and 2 commercial establishments, with access from First Street.

4 apartments face Second Street and the sea, while 2 of them face First Street.

Besides the beautiful view, the apartments have the added attraction of their roofs with double height ceilings and the large windows that the building originally had, providing natural ventilation and attractiveness, something very particular of the time in which it was originally built.

Reseña Histórica

The land where the building was constructed belonged to the Pacheco family, who sold it to a corporation named University Club, who constructed the existing building. A Reading Club was established there, and diverse cultural and social activities also took place on this location. The members of this Club were mainly Americans and businessmen of Panama City. Later, in 1918, the property was acquired by Mr. José Julio Fábrega, and his descendants held it until the 1980's.
